APPROACH
Theoretical/project based
This course introduces the students to the design of multimedia installations, that is systems that can interact with the audience both at a sensory and content level. The students will acquire technical and theoretical tools to handle different media at the same time, with a focus on audio-visual performances.
This teaching is made of a single module of 4 CFA = 4 ECTS
Successful students will be able to:
Define and analyse the features of an existing multimedia system: media, languages, goals, action and reaction dynamics, technology (hardware/software)
Create simple interactive multimedia prototypes
A general, introductory section focuses on understanding the basis of multimedia design in space (exhibitions, theatres, public spaces)
The following practice supports the practical and theoretical learning of the foundations of multimedia design (sound, visual, space)
This is a theoretical/project based course.
During the course, the students will carry out the following didactic activities, which may vary depending on the projects that will be developed:
Front lectures
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools
Exercises and revisions
Workshops
Individual or group projects
Individual study or research
Assessment tools may include:
Graded exercises with a final oral exam
Practical exams
