Theoretical/project based
This course is divided into two modules, languages of animation 2 and thesis workshop
The purpose of the course is for the students to develop professional skills in conceiving and carrying out audiovisual and animation projects. Through the analysis of works and authors of contemporary animation films in the direction module, the students experiment with and define the poetics that best presents, from an artistic and productive point of view, their final work. The course also aims at providing the students with better knowledge of the contemporary cinema production and distribution industry, as well as of the organizational and productive skills required in the professional context.
The total credits for this course are 8, divided as follows:
LANGUAGES OF ANIMATION 2: 4 CFA = 4 ECTS
THESIS WORKSHOP: 4 CFA = 4 ECTS
Successful students will be able to:
Present their authorial audiovisual project, linked with the final thesis project
Identify expressive solutions that are consistent with the chosen poetics
Convey their artistic ideas to an extended team of collaborators
Manage the production of audiovisual projects
Understand the financing strategies for audiovisual projects
Use project management principles in audiovisual production
LANGUAGES OF ANIMATION 2: 4 CFA = 4 ECTS
Analysis of the poetics of chosen authors in the contemporary animation film industry.
Analysis of relevant works
Stylistic research
Use of professional software for cartoons
THESIS WORKSHOP: 4 CFA = 4 ECTS
Research and conception of the Thesis project
Presentation of the script and direction dossier for the thesis project
Budgeting and financing
Festivals and distribution
This is a theoretical/project based course.
Over the course, the students will carry out the following didactic activities, which may vary depending on the themes that will be developed.
