APPROACH
Theoretical/project based

This course provides the students with theoretical and critical skills to produce audio-visual texts that can be analysed through the audio-visual aesthetics criteria. During the course, through the experience of group work dynamics, the students will devise and create a short-format video product.

The storyboard module analyses and implements, through drawings, graphic work and timing of frames/pictures, what was learnt in the direction module, and includes the research and study of the right solutions for audio-visual storytelling.

The total credits for this course are 6, divided as follows:

• DIRECTION 1: 4 CFA = 4 ECTS

• STORYBOARD: 2 CFA = 2 ECTS

Successful students will be able to:

• Identify the elements of the audio-visual language

• Identify different linguistic approaches

• Turn a story into audio-visual language

• Create simple scenes in a suitable style

• Relation between the author and the audience

STORYBOARD:

• Visualization of scenes and sequences

This is a theoretical/project based course. During the course, the students will carry out the following didactic activities, which may vary depending on the projects that will be developed:

• Front lectures

• Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools

• Exercises and revisions

• Workshops

• Individual or group projects

• Individual study or research

Assessment criteria may include:

• Paper and oral discussion

The final grade for this course will result from the weighted average of its modules.
