Greenpeace - Together we defend the natural world and work for a green and peaceful future.

Volunteering

  • If you’ve ever seen someone in a Greenpeace shirt asking you to write a message about plastic pollution or ending new oil and gas extraction, you’ve already met your local Greenpeace volunteers. There are lots of different things you can do as part of a group so there’s a role for everyone. Fancy getting involved? Take up a specific role within your Local Greenpeace Groups, or simply get involved as a member of the group, even if you don’t want to take on a specific role. For all our volunteer roles, you’ll need to be willing to get involved with the Local Group, by going along to monthly meetings and supporting the campaign and outreach activities which happen a couple of times each month. But mainly we look for anyone who has a passion for protecting the planet and has a spare few hours a month. You also need to be 18 or older.

Working for Greenpeace:

Greenpeace is a movement of people who are passionate about defending the natural world from

destruction. It is not only our committed volunteers and activists who help us achieve this vision, but

also our team of dedicated staff.

We promote equality, diversity and inclusion in our workplace and welcome job applications from all

sections of society. If you are passionate about defending our natural world and creating positive

change, then we want to hear from you.

Internships:

We understand it is often difficult to get a foot on the career ladder within the not-for-profit sector.

Job requirements can be quite specific and there is often no textbook training.

Paid internships offered within our London office help people prepare for a career within the sector.

There are a variety of roles which change yearly and run for six months – long enough to gain

valuable skills and meaningful workplace experiences which are highly transferable within the sector

and beyond.

Study with Greenpeace:

In addition to our research activities, the Greenpeace Research Laboratories actively participates

within the University of Exeter. Staff contribute to taught lecture courses at undergraduate and

postgraduate levels and supervise final year undergraduate projects within the School of

Biosciences.
