On behalf of the National Apprenticeship Service

The Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge for Schools and Colleges programme (ASK) is funded by the National Apprenticeship Service, part of the Department for Education. The programme is designed to give schools, colleges and other educational establishments across England support to develop and transform how students think about apprenticeships.

Newcastle UXL provide information, advice and guidance on a wide range of apprenticeships including degree level. Degree apprenticeships are a real alternative to full time university, combining the academic study of a university degree, with the hands-on, practical experience of an apprenticeship.

Degree Apprenticeships are designed by industry to bring together the very best in higher and vocational education. Apprentices achieve a full Bachelor’s or Master’s degree as a core component of the apprenticeship.

3 Top Tips for Students

  • Get Organised. You're about to progress into a full-time job role simultaneously with a full-time qualification, and it can be demanding.

  • Do your research. Make sure to research the job role and the company.

  • Don't leave your application until the last minute and take your time with the application. Check, check and check again for errors and that you have answered all questions correctly and thoroughly.
