Our recent hockey clinic was an absolute hit, with the girls embracing the excitement from start to finish! The day was packed with energy, laughter, and of course, plenty of hockey, all while celebrating two fun-filled themes.
One of the standout moments of this term was our very own Clifton Show, which has proven to be one of the best we’ve ever hosted! The turnout was fantastic, and the level of support from our school community was truly heartening. It was a pleasure to see so many riders, families, and staff members coming together to celebrate the talent and hard work of our equestrians.
The Junior Primary Interhouse Gala was held last Friday, and what a spectacular day it was! Our children eagerly took to the pool, blessed with sunshine and perfect swimming conditions, showcasing their growing confidence and enthusiasm for the sport.
The 1st X1 team boys recently participated in the highly anticipated Independent Schools Cricket Festival (ISCF), hosted this year by St Charles College as part of their 150th-anniversary celebrations. The festival provided an excellent platform for young cricketers to showcase their skills while experiencing a variety of match formats.

Eager little Junior Primary chess players gather in Mrs Whitehead’s Pre-School classroom every Friday afternoon, from 12:30 until 1:30pm. The beginner players have learnt the names and moves of each piece.
As we reflect on Term 1, it has been a promising season for our Grade 1 and 2 boys and girls as they stepped up to the crease for their first experience of mini cricket. This introductory format focuses on fundamental skills and match awareness, with our young players using Slazenger balls to simulate real-game conditions.
As we reach the end of another busy term, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the highlights and achievements at the Equestrian Centre. While the weather has not always been on our side, with frequent rain, we are proud to share the remarkable progress and successes of our riders.
This term has been an exciting one for our girls' tennis teams. The enthusiasm and dedication shown on the courts have been truly commendable. Our U9 players have been working hard on their hand-eye coordination and footwork, showing noticeable improvement in both their confidence and technique.
As we transitioned into Term 2 sports, our focus immediately shifted to preparing for the Midlands Rugby Festivals. Conditioning has been a key priority, ensuring our players are physically prepared and resilient to minimise the risk of injuries throughout the season.
This term has presented its fair share of challenges, particularly with the unpredictable weather. Storms and cold weather often disrupted training sessions, yet the boys and girls remained committed whenever they had the opportunity to be in the pool. They worked hard to refine their technique and put in extra effort to improve on strokes they initially felt less confident with.
