Dear Parents,

Since the storms last week, we have enjoyed wonderful weather with full days of games and afternoon practices. But this is Nottingham Road and the weather will change, so we’re enjoying every minute of sunshine while it lasts.

The sport and extra-curricular programme is in full swing and it is a pleasure to see children participating in so many activities.

Cricket against Laddsworth saw boys, and a few girls, enjoying matches and the U9s giving their all on the pitch. Our girls out swam the boys at the Howick Gala and some of our riders made full use of training sessions at Waterwoods Equestrian Centre.

The swimming pool is a busy space at 6:00am on Wednesday mornings with the squad putting in their extra training and a few mums and dads enjoying the early start to their day.

Summer sport captains and vice-captains have been announced and we wish these boys and girls well in their roles. The nominations for these positions were made by small sport committees who considered the following criteria:

Leadership - care for team members and the ability to be assertive when giving instructions, along with competence in and commitment to the sport.

The Grade 6s thoroughly enjoyed their trip to All-Out Adventures and the staff led the way in taking the scary “Big Swing”, with much encouragement from the children. Details and photos of the trip will be published in next week's newsletter.

We have conducted high school practice interviews with the Grade 7s who felt they needed a refresher. Interview tips can be found on the App.

Each day at Clifton brings more smiles than challenges and this picture certainly raised a huge smile. Enjoy!
