Shongololos - Termly Update
What a magical first term this has been! As a former Clifton pupil, stepping back onto this beautiful campus, this time as a teacher, has felt like a homecoming in the truest sense. Just as my little Shongololos have been discovering the wonders of Clifton, I, too, have been rediscovering the charm of this special place from a new perspective.
From our very first barefoot steps together, the children and I have soaked in the school’s natural beauty. The towering trees of Headmasters Woods, the dappled sunlight in Top Woods, and the comforting shade of the Maple Tree have become our classrooms as much as our playgrounds. Watching the children explore these spaces with curiosity and delight has been a daily reminder of the magic of outdoor learning.
This term, we have focused on sparking curiosity and storytelling among the children. We have stimulated language and literacy development through songs, new vocabulary and stories, and it has been wonderful to see their confidence in communication grow. In addition, we have started our journey into early numeracy, learning to count, recognising numbers, and developing a love for patterns and problem-solving.
It has been heartwarming to see how quickly the Shongololos have settled, forming friendships, gaining confidence, and embracing the joy of learning through play. I have also felt warmly welcomed into the Clifton family, and I am grateful for the kindness and support from both colleagues and parents.
I look forward to all the adventures that await us in the coming terms!
