Cliftones - Termly Update

The Cliftones children have thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful term of singing and learning new songs. It has been especially exciting to welcome the enthusiastic Grade 2s to the choir, and they have embraced the experience with energy and joy. They have learnt a variety of new songs and particularly enjoyed incorporating actions and movements into their performances.

A highlight of the term was undoubtedly the end-of-term recital, where the children sang beautifully and were encouraged by the warm support of their parents. Their confidence and enthusiasm continue to grow, and it has been a pleasure to see their progress.

I look forward to further developing this special choir in the year ahead and watching the children grow in both confidence and musicality.

Choir - Termly Update

The Senior Primary Choir has flourished this term, both in numbers and musicality. With our ever-growing group, finding space on the chapel stage has become a challenge, yet the beautiful, unified sound they are producing makes every rehearsal worthwhile. It has been inspiring to witness their growth as they learn and perform new songs together.

Each year brings the natural transition of our Grade 7s moving on and our eager Grade 4s joining, making it essential for the choir to develop strong listening skills, blend their voices, and remain motivated throughout the learning process. The early stages of rehearsals can be tough as songs must be repeated until perfected, but true joy in choir comes from the ability to perform with confidence.

A highlight of the term was the choir’s first performance in assembly, where they sang "Makanaka" and taught the rest of the school this uplifting and beautiful song—one that will hopefully be sung for years to come. In addition to this, the choir has been diligently preparing for both the end-of-term recital and the Easter Service, showcasing their dedication and enthusiasm.

It has been an absolute pleasure working with this energetic and committed group of children. Their passion and teamwork are a testament to the magic of choral singing, which truly is the biggest "team sport" in the school. I eagerly look forward to watching them continue to grow, harmonise, and inspire through music.
