Art - Termly Update

The Art classroom has been abuzz with activity this term. It is an amazing space to be in with wonderful views of the forest outside and the constant sound of background music and singing from the EAC.

The JP children have been busy with some creative observational drawings as well as some 'drawing with Rob' tutorials. We have experimented with different mediums such as pastels and paints and have had some outdoor lesson time collecting leaves and learning about organic shapes and natural pattern making. The SP kids have learned about some famous artists and their artworks. They have learned how to draw some tricky see-through objects in their observational drawings as well as some creative lessons with expressionistic and abstract work.

The classroom has been cleaned and cleared and materials restocked and replenished. We have also been lucky enough to have a brand new TV installed. The boys and girls have enjoyed watching inspirational videos and looking at images to broaden their understanding of world Art.

The displays in the EAC foyer have been updated to showcase the childrens work and the 'sip and paint' activity with the Frank Jackson donors and bursary recipients was a great success with some beautiful maple tree paintings being produced in watercolour.

We are looking forward to receiving some drawing lap-boards needed for outdoor lessons and there are some potential art outings on the cards to visit some local artists in the area in Term 2.
