JP Super Science Day - 25 March
The children were captivated by the electrifying Science Experiment Show that took place in the EAC theatre. The excitement was palpable from the moment the first experiment erupted in a dazzling display of colour and energy.
Throughout the day, the boys and girls immersed themselves in a variety of hands-on experiments that had been thoughtfully planned by their teachers. The classrooms buzzed with curiosity as the children investigated, discovered, and explored the wonders of science. With safety goggles on and lab coats at the ready, they eagerly engaged in the scientific process, making hypotheses and testing their ideas with enthusiasm.
From creating fizzy volcanic eruptions to constructing simple circuits and exploring the magic of magnets, each experiment provided an opportunity for the children to apply their critical thinking skills and deepen their understanding of the world around them. The joy on their faces was undeniable as they observed the reactions and transformations that unfolded before their eyes.
One highlight of the day during the Super Science Show was the moment when a carefully crafted chemical reaction sent a colourful foam geyser shooting into the air, eliciting gasps and cheers from the crowd. The children's excitement was matched by their growing appreciation for the wonders of science and the joy of discovery.
The success of Super Science Day was a testament to the dedication and creativity of the teachers who designed engaging and educational activities that sparked curiosity and wonder. The children left the day with not only newfound knowledge but also a deeper love for scientific exploration. We look forward to more opportunities to nurture our young scientists and inspire them to keep questioning, experimenting, and discovering the marvels of the world around them.
SP Super Science Day - 25 March
Super Science Day was once again a great success this year! Excitement buzzed through the school as the children eagerly anticipated a day filled with hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and, of course, a few explosions.
One of the biggest highlights was the science shows to the grades by The Fun Science Lad. Kaylee from Fun Science captivated the children with her energy and engaging demonstrations. The boys and girls sat on the edge of their seats, desperate to be chosen as volunteers for her exciting experiments.
This year’s shows, Easter Science and Travelling the Milky Way, took the children on a journey through fascinating scientific concepts. Using fire, dry ice, and a couple of controlled explosions, Kaylee demonstrated what life might be like on different planets, leaving the audience in awe.
In addition to the shows, each grade got the chance to conduct their own experiments with their teachers. These hands-on activities not only reinforced scientific concepts but also sparked creativity and curiosity. A clear favourite of the day was Mr Mortimer’s famous Exploding Coke Bottles experiment!
Super Science Day once again proved that learning science can be both educational and incredibly fun. It was a day filled with discovery, wonder, and plenty of unforgettable moments!
