Boarding

This term has been filled with energy, excitement, and lasting memories. From swimming and obstacle courses to cricket, four-square, and jackpot, the campus has been buzzing with activity. Laughter and friendly competition have echoed across the grounds as our girls and boys embraced every opportunity to stay active and have fun.

A standout moment this term was the Float-a-Rama competition at Glensheilling Dam, where the children built and tested their rafts in support of Love Notties. Their teamwork and enthusiasm made for a truly memorable experience. A special thanks to the staff who helped make the event possible.

Beyond the big events, it’s the everyday moments that have made boarding life special. Cricket fixtures kept players and supporters engaged, while swimming, tennis, and indoor hockey provided a mix of competition and relaxation. Evenings were filled with movie nights, outdoor games, and lively sing-offs around the bell, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere.

A highlight of the term was the Valentine’s Dinner, attended by Mr Fleischack. Our girls and boys have also had the opportunity to enjoy dinners with Mr and Mrs Fleischack in their lovely home, an experience they all found both enjoyable and rewarding.

Even with a busy schedule, our Grade 6s and 7s remained focused on their studies as exams approached. Evenings became quieter as they prepared for these, showing great dedication while still making time for relaxation and fun.

Boarders have also enjoyed the Sunday Chapel services, where they contribute to their spiritual growth through a message from a member of the boarding staff and interactive discussions. Each service ends with a heartfelt prayer led by one of the boarders for the week ahead. It is inspiring to see their faith, insight, and trust grow in this space.

The children have also been encouraged to embrace the values of kindness and respect, focusing on the importance of greetings and good manners. These small but meaningful actions help create a positive atmosphere within the school and beyond.

Recently, the boarders spent the evening in the Lapa, enjoying time together. They returned on Saturday morning, carrying their sleeping bags, pillows, and the much-loved hot chocolate pot. A big thank you to the kitchen staff for making it all possible.

With the recent rainy weather, the boarders made the most of the puddles on Haworth Oval, bringing back an old Clifton tradition. The ‘duck dive’ has returned, just as past pupils once enjoyed, adding to the fun and spirit of boarding life.

It has been a fantastic first term, and we look forward to many more memorable moments ahead!
