Grade 4 - Termly Update

Grade 4 is always an adventure, and Term 1 has been no exception! It has been a time of new experiences, from tackling more complex work and longer writing tasks to discovering new subjects and learning how to learn. The children have been busy creating and using a variety of learning tools to help them prepare for their very first quizzes.

Despite all the hard work, there has still been plenty of time for fun. A highlight has been the regular access to Top Woods, where the children have enthusiastically built forts and uncovered hidden treasures, some dating back as far as the 1950s! The excitement of finding old glass bottles and other relics has added an extra layer of adventure to their playtime.

We have also welcomed new children to Clifton, which means new friendships and fresh stories about experiences before joining us. These children have quickly become part of the Grade 4 family.

Nature has played a big role in our learning this term. There was great excitement when a snake was spotted, leading to an impromptu lesson on snake identification. We have also had toads visiting the classroom, much to Mrs Stokes’ displeasure, sending her hopping onto her chair in fright!

Our farming journey has begun in the farmyard, where we planted our first crops and have been carefully tending to them each week, making sure they receive all the love and attention they need. The farmyard has also welcomed four new chickens, who have certainly been spoiled with free hugs from enthusiastic children.

It has been a wonderful term of learning, laughter, and discoveries. As we settle into life in the Senior Primary, we are realising  just how much fun and adventure still awaits us. We are looking forward to all that Term 2 has in store!
