Congrats to our National Merit Scholarship Finalists!
CAHS seniors Liliana Gavin and Seth Peace were announced last week as National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists! These academically talented high school seniors are among the roughly 16,000 Semifinalists (out of 1.4 million juniors) who scored in the top 1% in their state. They will continue in the competition to be named a National Merit Scholar and potentially win one of the approximately 7,140 National Merit Scholarships. Congratulations to Liliana and Seth on this impressive accomplishment!
Coming Soon: College Night at CAHS!
The Classical Academies will be hosting a College Information Night on October 5th for all parents and students! We will also be live streaming the presentation so families can join in from home via Zoom. Admissions representatives from local universities and colleges including CSUSM, GCU, Palomar, MiraCosta and more will also be present to provide information and answer questions.

Free Transit Passes for Students - Unlimited Rides on Bus, Trolley, Coaster & Sprinter
The Youth Opportunity Pass (YOP), which allows all riders 18 and under to ride all San Diego County transit systems (bus, trolley, Coaster, Sprinter), including North County Transit District and MTS services for FREE, has been extended through June 2024.
To be eligible for the Youth Opportunity Pass, riders 18 and under must have a Youth PRONTO app account, or a Youth PRONTO card, and travel with proof of eligibility. Riders who do not have a Youth PRONTO pass may either download one on a smartphone or pick up a free card from the MTS Transit Store, NCTD Customer Service Centers or select community organizations. For more information, visit NCTD's Youth Opportunity Pass webpage or the SANDAG website.
FREE Gift for Eligibility Verification
All youth with a YOP account must have their eligibility verified. For a limited time only, while supplies last, receive a FREE gift when you verify your YOP account at any NCTD Customer Service Center. Not sure if your PRONTO YOP eligibility has been verified? Call NCTD Customer Service at (760) 966-6500, Monday-Friday, 7am - 7pm, and weekends and holidays, 8am- 5 pm.

SAFE-Africa/Gogo Grandmothers is hosting a large fundraiser to benefit students in Malawi Africa’s schools. They need “greeters” and “servers of Julian apple pie” that evening.
That’s where you come in!
Volunteers are needed from 4- 9pm at Emmanuel Faith in Escondido's Gymnasium. You’ll be provided with pizza, apple pie and 5 hours of volunteer service hours.
Josh McDowell, an internationally known author and speaker, will be sharing.
FYI: This event is not a dinner, but you will be serving the apple pie and ice cream.

Join your fellow Classical Academies friends and families to cheer on San Diego Loyal Soccer Club! Use this link for group rate tickets and sit with other Classical Academy community members. Last year we had over 70 in our group! Cheer on club EVP & Manager former US Men’s National Team legend Landon Donavon and his high-flying team. If you’ve never experienced a Loyal match day, you’re in for a treat! The soccer is incredible, and the atmosphere is electric.
The SD Loyal Soccer Club announced that this will be their final season, which means the next three games will be their last ever in San Diego.
The final two games are as follows:
9/30 against Monterey Bay
10/7 against Oakland
