End of the Year BBQ Needs!

The end of the school year is just around the corner and I really need your help. Please help make the End of the Year BBQ event a memorable one for our students. Help our kids, and

Earn DOUBLE PARENT VOLUNTEER HOURS! Please click on the

"Google Sign Up Form", and select your donation item(s).

If you are unable to shop, we gladly accept Smart and Final or Costco Gift Cards.

You can drop off your non perishable items anytime during the school day. If you are donating perishable items, please drop off the day of the BBQ, which is May 31st at 5:30pm.

Parents like you are a huge reason our school has it's outstanding reputation. CAHS parents really do embrace our motto, "Partnering with Parents", I truly appreciate your generosity.

Remember to log in all of your Parent Volunteer Hours for the entire year, I am also here to help you, just list the amount of hours served and what group or event you served. Also, each $10 spent equals 1 service hour.

Again, thanks for another great year!

Debbie Felix - Parent Volunteer Coordinator

Attention Junior Parents

As this year comes to a close, and the seniors graduate, the Class of 2020 will quickly step into their new role as leaders on our new campus next year. In anticipation of the responsibilities of a senior class, the ASB Junior officers are planning a Junior Unity Day, which will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019. The purpose of this special day is to focus on class unity and set goals as a class for next year. It is also our desire to challenge each student to use the individual gifts and talents with which they have been blessed. Here is where you come in!

As the end of the day, each student will receive an envelope with several letters from various teachers, members of the senior class, and hopefully . . . you! We are asking each parent to write a letter to their son / daughter, expressing your thoughts about the significance of their senior year and how special your child is to you. Some ideas are listed at the bottom of this letter. Please send your letter(s) back in the envelope enclosed in this letter or bring it to the front office. We also want to ask that you please keep this a secret! We would like to surprise the juniors with these letters and would appreciate your cooperation. In order for all of this to happen, the letters must be received by Friday, May 17, 2019.

We cannot express the importance of each student receiving a letter from their parent(s). We would ask all parents to please participate. Parents may write either a joint letter or separate letters. THIS MAY BE THE BEST GIFT YOUR SON / DAUGHTER WILL EVER RECEIVE. We are very excited about this day and thank you for your help and support. If you have any questions, please contact Judy Zazvrskey at jzazvrskey@classicalacademy.com.

SOME IDEAS FOR YOUR PARENT LETTER:

“What I’ve always admired (appreciated, loved) about you . . .”

“This is what makes you so special . . .”

“I will always remember , , , (funny stories, special events, etc.) . . .”

“You are important to our family because . . .”

“My hopes, dreams (prayers) for your senior year (and future) include . . .”

REMINDER: Letters should be sent to the school by May 15. DO NOT SEND THEM TO SCHOOL WITH YOUR SON / DAUGHTER, unless it is in a sealed envelope with my name on it.

IMPORTANT: This is an important day in the lives of our future seniors. Please make every effort to see that your son / daughter attends school on June 4, it is our goal to have the whole class here that day.

Thank you for continuing to partner with us here at CAHS,

Judy Zazvrskey, Director of Student Activities

2019 Studio CAHS May Testing

Each spring, students at The Classical Academies participate in the statewide testing program California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) System. The test results provide teachers, parents/guardians, and students information about students’ progress and readiness for college and career. The state has cut back drastically on testing, making these few tests extremely important in maintaining our charter and funding. We are asking for 100% PARTICIPATION AND EFFORT as we strive to maintain our high standing in this community, county, and state!

Community Events

Community Service Opportunity

A local nonprofit organization called More Than Apples, Inc. is in need of volunteers to assist with food redistribution services, which takes place every Thursday in Escondido. We also need volunteers to help with childcare for the children of volunteers on site.

Parents are always available to the child if needed, and the type of childcare we need is similar to something like a day camp counselor would provide.

Hours would be from 11am to 3pm, only on Thursdays.

If you are interested, please text or call Brenda Cote at (847) 477-5457.

Available Every Sunday - All summer long

If you need community service hours please consider joining Feeding San Diego at our food distribution this summer. Food is distributed EVERY Sunday and workers are needed to help sort, display and distribute free groceries to our guests. Shifts are from 1:30-3:30 every Sunday.
