October 28- Final Home Football Game at Del Norte High School: JV 5pm Var 7:30 pm Senior Night will be held before the varsity game.

PSAT - Tuesday, October 25th

The PSAT is a practice test for the SAT and can also lead to students receiving entry into the National Merit Scholarship Program. It is offered mainly for 11th graders, but also for 10th graders who are interested. Tuesday, October 25th will be a Home Day for all 9th and 12th graders and any 10th and 11th graders not signed up for the PSAT.

If your student signed up for the PSAT, please have them arrive at school at 8:00am on Tuesday, October 25th. They will be released around 12:00pm.

PSAT sign ups were offered at Gear Up Day and also through Cohort teachers. If your 10th or 11th grade student missed those sign up opportunities but decided they do want to take the PSAT, please sign them up by Friday, September 9th at the latest at this link: https://forms.gle/tTJwaJP26G8eEi6r5

If your student signed up for the PSAT previously with Mr. Warwick and has changed their mind and no longer wants to take the PSAT, please email Mr. Warwick (cwarwick@classicalacademy.com) letting him know - include their first name, last name, and grade level please. This helps us maintain an accurate order count and saves the school money by avoiding unused booklets.

CAHS Finals Extension

CAHS Families,

Due to the increased number of students currently experiencing sickness, CAHS has made the decision to extend and expand our finals make-up period to Tuesday, October 25th. Students who missed their regularly scheduled final exam due to illness now have four additional opportunities to make-up their exam before they would be issued an Incomplete for the course. The make-up windows are as follows:

• Friday, October 21: 9am-12pm (Location: Course Teacher's Classroom)

• Friday, October 21: 12pm-3pm (Location: Learning Center)

• Monday, October 24: 8am-3pm (Location: Learning Center)

• Tuesday, October 25: 8am-3pm (Location: Learning Center)

If students would like to schedule a time to make-up their final exam during a Learning Center location window, they must send their teacher a direct message via Schoology requesting their final exam to be taken during that time. Teachers will arrange for the exam to be ready and waiting for that student in Learning Center upon their arrival.

If your student continues to experience sickness symptoms and cannot return to campus during these make-up days, please have them reach out to their teacher to discuss the option of receiving an Incomplete for the course and to schedule a later make-up date for their final exams.

Please be aware that these extended make-up windows are only for students with previously excused absences. If you have any questions, please reach out directly to your teachers for assistance. Thank you!

CAHS Robotics Open Invitation

The Robotics Team will be hosting an open-invitation* meeting at our regular time, next Monday, 10/24/22, at 5:30-7:30 pm. This time, will be hosting a special guest speaker by the name of Rafael Mancilla, the local Business Development Manager for Universal Robots (the company whose robot the team uses for projects).

For the benefit of the team getting feedback from Mr. Mancilla--as well as for the amazement of any additional visitors!--team members will present two routines the robot arm is capable of doing:

• Grilled-cheese-sandwich making (our 2021-22 standard, with improvements!)

• AI-based visual tracking of human faces (our newest development!)
