Principal Update
We have a BIG WEEK ahead! Please watch the new video from Mrs. Young with directions for students for the first days of school. Please watch this prior to Thursday! Gear Up is Monday and Tuesday. See information below!

Parents, Log in to our Zoom meeting on Wednesday, August 19 from 10 am - 11:30 pm. Mr. Moen and Mrs. Lieber will answer your top questions regarding distance learning and the start of school. Please submit your questions ahead of time to dfelix@classicalacademy.com. (Note: The Zoom room will hold up to 300 people and this chat will be recorded and posted.)
ASB students will host this live Zoom meeting with Mr. Moen on Wednesday, August 19 at 6:00 pm to discuss plans for the upcoming school year. CAHS Choir Update
If you are in choir, please look for an email from Jennifer McCormick regarding plans for this year. Choir will be on pause until students can come back onto campus. Her current plan is to meet the week of October 26 if we have permission to meet on campus at that time! We can't wait to hear these amazing students filling Caiman Hall with their voices soon!
Course Schedule Change Requests
If you would like to request adding or dropping a course, please have a parent use the link below. Schedule change requests must be filled out and turned in by Tuesday, August 18th. We will only accept request changes via the Google link below. Please do not email or call the office to request a change. Mrs. Fletcher will notify you via email by September 7th if your schedule request was denied otherwise it was accommodated and you may view the new course schedule in Pathways. In order to make schedules work for all students, we are not able to accommodate specific teacher or period requests. Please note that most classes are full and requested course schedule changes will be extremely limited.

Gear Up Schedule
August 17 - 9am - 6pm
August 18 - 8am-5pm
Students will walk through Gear Up to take their school photo, receive their ID card, pick up textbooks, and a chromebook if reserved. All students will also be receiving a FREE GIFT!
2019-20 yearbooks have arrived and students who purchased one may pick it up at Gear Up.
Location: CAHS Main Hallway
Parents may park in the student parking lot and security will assist students at the crosswalk and school entrance.
Social distancing will be enforced.
No loitering or gathering in groups will be allowed.
Students and CAHS team will wear face coverings at all times.
Student temperature will be taken at the door.
Please self-check for COVID-related symptoms identified by the CDC. If you - or anyone in your household - is experiencing any of the symptoms, please reschedule your Gear Up appointment by contacting Debbie Felix at dfelix@classicalacademy.com

Attached you will find the picture order form from our new photography studio, Studio 94 Photography. You can fill out this form and along with payment, have your student give it to the photographer during Gear Up. If you are not able to deliver the order form, they will be sending you an email link a few weeks following that will make your picture available to order. Thank you! Studio 94.
Parents - Introducing... PERMISSION CLICK!
CAHS Studio will be using a digital tool called Permission Click this year to replace the numerous paper forms that require parent signatures at Gear Up. Payments can be made for the class shirt through Permission Click. ASB Cards are Free this year as well as Art class fees. There is a separate payment portal for the 20-21 Yearbook listed below. Through Permission Click, parents will answer several questions, but will only have to sign once at the end! This also allows parents to stay home on Gear Up Days and helps us minimize the number of people on campus on those days. Please click on the Permission Click Link, read and sign as soon as you are able. Parents who don't read and sign by Friday, August 14th will be called and asked to do so. At Gear Up, your student will receive paper copies of many important informational handouts and we encourage families to keep these handouts for future reference.

Sports Update
CAHS Athletics Website is found at:
High school sports have seen some significant changes for the upcoming school year. At this point, CIF is proposing to combine all three seasons of sport into two, fall and spring seasons. Fall/Winter sports will start practicing December 14th and Spring sports will start March 14th. That being said, CIF is planning to release another update on August 14th. All information will be updated at that time. Thank you for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times.
We are continuing to host our “Caiman Way” athletics meeting electronically due to COVID - 19 restrictions. Please watch the videos from our principal and athletic director and then fill out the interest form for the sport(s) you are interested in. Also, download the Caiman Sports App, complete your athletic clearance paperwork, and help us with an athletic donation to the NCEF. Thank you Caimans!!!

Technology Update and Chromebook Request
To support academic learning and complete assigned coursework in including live virtual classes, The Classical Academies will have Chromebooks available for students to check out for the duration of distance learning. (Please only request a chromebook if you do not have a working computer for distance learning. These devices will need to be returned to the school at the end of the school year or whenever learning returns to the classroom. To request a Chromebook for your student, please fill out the 2020-2021 Chromebook Request Form. Please submit your request as soon as possible. If your request is received by Wednesday, August 12, 2020, you can pick up your chromebook during your Gear Up appointment. Please bring the signed Technology Checkout Form with you when you pick up the Chromebook. *If you complete the form after August 12, 2020, we will communicate with you when and where you will pick up your device.
National Honor Society
If you are a 10th, 11th or 12th grader with a 3.5 gpa or higher…
…you may be the perfect candidate to participate in the National Honors Society chapter at CAHS! It is a great opportunity for 10th-12th graders to get national recognition in their excellence in scholarship, leadership, service and character. It looks GREAT on college applications. In order to apply you must complete the entire application process. Applications can be picked up from the front desk at CAHS or from Mr. Charles at Classical Academy Online.
