Weekly Message from Mr. Moen
Weekly Video to be Posted Tuesday
Hello Caimans! We are entering week 6 of distance learning with only three weeks to go. The year is winding down fast! Now is the time to finish strong! It was amazing to see so many of you dressing up and posting your prom photos over the weekend. What an amazing way to keep your spirits up and to remember there will be better days ahead!
Seniors, we are busy making plans to celebrate you and we will be announcing the dates and plans this Friday! Look for a video message from Mr. Curry as well as an email from CAHS. We miss you and we will celebrate the class of 2020!
A Message from Ms. Hughes
For many young people, sheltering at home means missing milestones and public recognition of their achievements. This is especially true for seniors graduating from high school and college. Attached is a great article from NPR if you have or are a Senior feeling all the feelings this quaranine is bringing us.
Also remember that I am here to listen and support. I am hosting virtual support sessions for students, through Google Hangouts or over the phone.
To connect, simply fill out the CAHS Counseling Referral Form. Within 24 “school” hours (Monday-Friday 8am-3pm) of the referral being received I will personally connect to you or your student through Schoology to set up an appointment of their choice.
Take Care and Be Safe!

Urgent AP Exam Message:
Please log in to your College Board account as soon as possible to check on the following:
1. That your email is a current working email account with the College Board
2. Review each of the AP exams that you are signed up for this year. Remember signing up for AP exams this year was a TWO part process:
1. You must have paid on Total Registration
2. You must have signed into your AP classroom/classrooms with the AP classroom access code/codes given to you by each of your AP teachers. This is how College Board AP exams were ordered
Below are some important AP exam and College Board changes designed to help and support students this school year:
What Do I Need to Do?
Please make certain that the College Board has your up to date e-mail address as this is where the AP exam/exams will be sent to you. The email used should be one that you check frequently and be one that can receive emails from an "outside sender". Students should plan to update their CB email if needed to an active, personal email address they check regularly. Please do this as soon as possible.
If you have questions regarding your email account please log in to your College Board account and/or contact the College Board directly at 866-315-6068. Due to privacy issues, the counseling department cannot view your College Board account or make any new changes to your personal account.
Traditional face-to-face exam administrations will not take place. Students will take a 45-minute online free-response exam at home.
Some students may want to take the exam sooner rather than later, while the content is still fresh. Other students may want more time to practice. For each AP subject, there will be 2 different testing dates. However, we do not have those testing dates available to us yet. These dates and more details will be announced in early April.
Please visit https://apstudents.collegeboard.org/coronavirus-updates for more information and helpful resources as you prepare for AP exams.
Any requested cancellations of AP exams through Total Registration can only be refunded after the last AP exam is taken on June 5th.

IMPORTANT: New Tools and Resources Are Now Available to Students Navigating College Admissions
New NACAC tool helps students navigate the college admission process amid the coronavirus outbreak.
As a service to students and families, NACAC has created a new resource cataloging campus-specific changes in college admission events, deposit dates, and more as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.
The purpose of the tool—which features information from post-secondary institutions—is to make it easier for students and others to navigate the admission process during this unprecedented time of upheaval. So far, more than 460 colleges and universities from around the world have submitted their information.
Both public and private postsecondary institutions are included on the list. The resource will update in real-time as NACAC receives new information from colleges and universities.
“Students need reliable information to assist them in making informed choices during this uncertain time,” Jayne Caflin Fonash, the association’s president, said in a press release. “This collaborative resource does just that.”

California State Update
The entire California State University system is taking all the necessary steps to mitigate the disruptions caused by COVID-19 while ensuring the health and safety for our students, faculty, staff and communities.
Please be assured that all CSU campuses are prepared to be as flexible as possible when working with fall 2020 applicants on meeting admission requirements and selection. This flexibility will vary by campus and potentially by major applied due to impaction. Although there has been disruption, as campuses transition to some or all staff working remotely, processing of applications and communications is still taking place. We would encourage fall 2020 applicants to continue to check their email and campus portals regularly.
If students have specific questions, they can contact campuses via email. Campus contact information can be found at: https://www2.calstate.edu/apply/Pages/contact-a-campus.aspx. We would encourage applicants to contact campuses via email and be patient while awaiting a response.
As more information becomes available we will send additional updates.
