Principal Update

Hello Caimans! Below are some updates on what Distance Learning will look like for the first six weeks of school. CAHS Team Update

I want to give a BIG THANK YOU to two incredible team members who will be moving on to exciting opportunities. Christy Hoffman who has served on our office team for 8 years will be joining her family business. We are very thankful for her many years of service to our team! Chedly Benattia, who has served for 10 years as a teacher, coach, and recently as our Athletic Director will be joining our sister school, Coastal Academy High, as their first ever Assistant Principal. Mr. Benattia looks to bring his experience and passion to the growing Stingray family! We are thankful for the time we have shared with these two team members and the incredible foundation they both laid at CAHS! They will be missed!

Technology Update and Chromebook Request

To support academic learning and complete assigned coursework in including live virtual classes, The Classical Academies will have Chromebooks available for students to check out for the duration of distance learning. (Please only request a chromebook if you do not have a working computer for distance learning. These devices will need to be returned to the school at the end of the school year or whenever learning returns to the classroom. To request a Chromebook for your student, please fill out the 2020-2021 Chromebook Request Form. Please submit your request as soon as possible. If your request is received by Wednesday, August 12, 2020, you can pick up your chromebook during your Gear Up appointment. Please bring the signed Technology Checkout Form with you when you pick up the Chromebook. *If you complete the form after August 12, 2020, we will communicate with you when and where you will pick up your device.

National Honor Society

If you are a 10th, 11th or 12th grader with a 3.5 gpa or higher…

…you may be the perfect candidate to participate in the National Honors Society chapter at CAHS! It is a great opportunity for 10th-12th graders to get national recognition in their excellence in scholarship, leadership, service and character. It looks GREAT on college applications. In order to apply you must complete the entire application process. Applications can be picked up from the front desk at CAHS or from Mr. Charles at Classical Academy Online.

CAHS Studio Annual School Forms

Reminder! Thank you to those that have already completed our annual forms as part of the registration process. If you have not already done so, we require completion of the following school forms for each student no later than August 7, 2020. Your student will not be able to pick up books until these forms are complete.

The following forms are required to finalize your registration: Household Data Collection, Audio Video Recording Consent, and Master Agreement (emailed to you separately).

  1. Household Data Collection (HDC) form:

This form is used to determine funding for your school. Completing the HDC form could also allow a reduction in cost for the AP exam, SAT fee waivers, college application and score transfer fees with participating colleges, and free or reduced meals under the TCA meal program.

Click on Household Data Collection under your student’s name on the left.

Then click in the Sign Document box in the middle of the screen.

Complete lines 1 and 2

Digitally sign using your mouse/trackpad and type your name underneath the signature box.

Scroll down and click Submit Agreement on the bottom right of the page.

Do this for each student in your household.

  1. Audio/Video Recording Consent: Click Here

  2. Master Agreement: This was emailed to you after July 27th. You and your student both need to sign if you haven’t done so already.

Gear Up Schedule

August 17 - 9am - 6pm

August 18 - 8am-5pm

Students will walk through Gear Up to take their school photo, receive their ID card, pick up textbooks, and a chromebook if reserved. All students will also be receiving a FREE GIFT!

2019-20 yearbooks have arrived and students who purchased one may pick it up at Gear Up.

Location: CAHS Main Hallway

  • Parents may park in the student parking lot and security will assist students at the crosswalk and school entrance.

  • Social distancing will be enforced.

  • No loitering or gathering in groups will be allowed.

  • Students and CAHS team will wear face coverings at all times.

  • Student temperature will be taken at the door.

  • Please self-check for COVID-related symptoms identified by the CDC. If you - or anyone in your household - is experiencing any of the symptoms, please reschedule your Gear Up appointment by contacting Debbie Felix at dfelix@classicalacademy.com

To keep the student flow moving and respect the social distance rules students are asked to attend Gear Up Day at their assigned time according to day and time table below.

Attached you will find the picture order form from our new photography studio, Studio 94 Photography. You can fill out this form and along with payment, have your student give it to the photographer during Gear Up. If you are not able to deliver the order form, they will be sending you an email link a few weeks following that will make your picture available to order. Thank you! Studio 94.

Parents - Introducing... PERMISSION CLICK!

CAHS Studio will be using a digital tool called Permission Click this year to replace the numerous paper forms that require parent signatures at Gear Up. Payments can be made for the class shirt through Permission Click. ASB Cards are Free this year as well as Art class fees. There is a separate payment portal for the 20-21 Yearbook listed below. Through Permission Click, parents will answer several questions, but will only have to sign once at the end! This also allows parents to stay home on Gear Up Days and helps us minimize the number of people on campus on those days. Please click on the Permission Click Link, read and sign as soon as you are able. Parents who don't read and sign by Friday, August 14th will be called and asked to do so. At Gear Up, your student will receive paper copies of many important informational handouts and we encourage families to keep these handouts for future reference.
