PSAT - Save the Date

Please SAVE THE DATE! On Wednesday, October 10th, all sophomores, and juniors will be taking the PSAT test at school. Freshman and seniors will not be testing but should plan for a home study day that day.

Testing will begin at 8:00 a.m. and will last until approximately 12:15 p.m. Please make certain that you have made any necessary pick up arrangements for the testing day and that your child gets a good night’s sleep, eats a protein based breakfast and comes prepared to take the test that morning. He/she will need two sharpened #2 pencils and a calculator. Some extra pencils will be available, but not enough for everyone, so make sure your child is prepared. We will not have extra calculators.

It is important that your child is not late to school. Students will not be permitted to take the test if they walk in late and testing has already begun.

Students who are absent that day will not be able to retake the test. October 10th is the national testing date, so we are not able to re-schedule testing.

All of our students taking the Oct 10th test were given a practice PSAT in Cohort. If you would like for your child to get some additional practice on taking the PSAT before October 10th please go to www.collegeboard.com. This web page has practice tests your child can access in order to prepare.

The PSAT is an important testing tool. These test results will determine which of our students will qualify as National Merit Finalists and affords our students a number of very competitive scholarship opportunities. Additionally, it is a wonderful practice for the SAT and will give students opportunities to get great college information.

Please feel free to contact the Academic and College Counseling Department if you have any questions!

MARK THE DATE - Wednesday, October 10th is the PSAT.

We will be giving the PSAT to all of our studio student sophomores and juniors on Wednesday, October 10th. If possible, please do not schedule any outside appointments for your son/daughter as this National Test cannot be re-scheduled.

Testing will begin at 8:00 a.m. until approximately 12:15 p.m. for standard test takers. All sophomores and juniors will be assigned specific classrooms upon arrival.

The PSAT is an important testing tool. These test results will determine which of our 11th grade students will qualify as Commended Scholars and National Merit Finalists. This affords our students a number of very competitive scholarship opportunities. Additionally, it is a wonderful practice for the SAT and will give students opportunities to get great college information. We believe it is critical that each of our students is given this important test.

Freshmen and seniors will be having a home study day on October 10th.
