Marco Polo was a Venetian merchant, explorer, and writer who traveled through Asia along the Silk Road between 1271 and 1295. He spent nearly 14 years in Yuan dynasty under the control of Mongol leader Kublai Khan.
Ibn Battuta was a Muslim Moroccan scholar and explorer who traveled extensively in Afro-Eurasia, largely in the lands of Dar al-Islam, traveling more than any other explorer in pre-modern history
Margery Kempe was an English Christian mystic, known for her book, 'The Book of Margery Kempe', a work considered by some to be the first autobiography in the English language. It told of her travels & Christain beliefs.
