Over the past two decades, Dr. Steve Tennyson has used a variety of teaching methods in his classes. He has recently adopted an innovative approach where students receive the lessons outside the classroom and use the time with the instructor to review, answer questions and practice new concepts. Join him as he shares his experience in flipping the Machine Design classroom and the impact it has had.

Dr. Stephen Tennyson joined Boise State University in 1995 as one of the founding members of the College of Engineering. His industry experience includes research and design engineering at J.J. Case and the U.S. Army-Tank Automotive Command. As a visionary researcher, he obtained funding to create the New Product Development Lab, equipped with state of the art 3D printers. Dr. Tennyson’s dedication and commitment to his students and his profession are well-known. Even after his retirement, he will continue to give back to the engineering community by teaching classes for the Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering department.
