Junior, Megan Covey is a Hamilton, Ohio native who loves helping others, and enjoys being around genuine people.
At Badin, Megan moved on from her athletic career to pursue helping others in the numerous different ways.
“I used to play volleyball, but I quit because I wanted to focus on service,” Covey said.
Megan hasn’t always been a part of service, but once she tried it, she fell in love.
Not only did she fall in love with the people she was helping, she also enjoys being around the others that help out, especially Mrs. Halverson.
“I am doing my junior service project at Booker T. [Washington] and got involved because of my sister, but I fell in love with it.,” Covey said.
Megan plans on becoming a teacher after high school, which shows her love giving to others.
“I plan to be a teacher for Kindergarten. I've always loved kids, I'd always choose to be around kids. Booker T finalized this decision for me,” Covey said.
This year Megan looks forward to not only a more normal school year with no masks, online school, but also being able to be at lunch with all of her friends and growing closer to her classmates.
When she is not doing service, or at school, she works at Skyline, helping customers become happy with food.
When she's not helping others, Megan enjoys going to Graeters to enjoy some black raspberry chip ice cream.
