Junior Alexis Duffy has been attending Badin since her freshman year, but before that she was homeschooled by her parents. Though Duffy has had a lot of homework and stress through her high school career, she desires the ultimate high school experience.
The pandemic took away her opportunity to attend traditional dances, so this year Duffy is getting to experience these for the first time.
“I’m excited for homecoming and prom this year and next year,” Duffy said.
With her junior year underway, Duffy is excited to take her drivers test. Once she gets her license, she will have more freedom and time to spend with her friends.
Along with junior year comes the annual service projects. Each junior chooses a nonprofit organization and volunteers there for twenty hours to build relationships.
“I am going to start volunteering for YoungLives next month. I am most excited to be working with the kids, and I’m not nervous at all,” Duffy said.
Junior year is considered upperclassmen and Duffy looks forward to also feeling the perks and leadership that comes with it.
