Junior Patrick Ray is entering his third year at Badin High School and has been involved in many activities since his time here. He is a three-sport athlete who also gets involved with service.
Ray has a lot to say when it comes down to the sports he plays. He agrees that the programs at Badin are like no other.
“I play basketball, football, and volleyball. Basketball is what I fell in love with as a kid. I picked up football freshman year to make friends. I played volleyball because it was offered at my grade school and it gave me something to do in the spring,” Ray said.
Although he plays three sports, Ray says that basketball is his favorite, despite volleyball being the easiest for him to pick up.
“I like basketball the best because there's a lot of motion shown in basketball and I think it requires more teamwork,” Ray said.
One of the things that makes Badin’s teams to special is the sense of community on the court and field. The bonds on the teams allow players to persevere through challenges they face.
“I feel like Badin’s team is more family-oriented and everyone is there for each other no matter what, like a brotherhood,” Ray said.
No matter the sport, Ray says that the environment amongst Badin sports teams are like no other.
