“And here comes the Rams.” After an extremely successful Fall sports season for all Badin sports you have to question where Rams sports would be without the Herd in the corner. Seniors Eli Halverson, Ian Sabourin and Cooper Fiehrer are the leaders of the student section. While that job at Badin has been passed down for years. Ryan Kirkendall was one of the leaders for the class of 2021.
“For the class of 2020 it was Nathan Schuster and Spencer Giesting who had it before us,” Kirkendall said.
Student sections on Friday nights in the Fall are events that everyone looks forward to cheering on your team to victory. When the Coronavirus hit it took all of the fans out of the stands which was saddening for students, staff, alumni and parents.
“The Herd’s job during COVID was to keep everyone involved any way possible, whether it was reporting scores or some friendly back and forth with other schools on Twitter,” Kirkendall said.
This year, for the class of 2022, Eli Halverson, Ian Sabourin and Cooper Fiehrer. They lead the student sections for all seasons, and keep people engaged via social media such as Twitter.
“We just have fun with it, we are passionate about our school and we show it. When everyone was packed into the stadium in Canton it really felt like all the work had paid off and we made it to the goal,” Halverson said.
As Fall sports come to a close we look forward to the future successes of our Winter and Spring teams and athletes. We will be there cheering you on and making some chaos in the corner. The best student section in the nation. No doubt.
