Senior Haylie Jacobs has found her place at Badin High School after finishing grade school at Saint Peter in Chains. She has been in and out of four different school districts including Hamilton, Hamilton Catholic Schools, Talawanda and Fairfield.
“When I came to Badin, everything fell into place. I got my life together, got good grades and fell in love with the atmosphere,” Jacobs said.
Jacobs has had many opportunities to find new interests at Badin. At the age of six, Jacobs began shooting. Thus, it only made sense for her to join the Claybusters.
Thanks to Badin, she has been provided an outstanding atmosphere and experience. After graduating, she plans to move forward and study in the field of cosmetology at the Aveda Institute.
“Hair has always been something I’ve been interested in. Doing makeup and hair makes me happy. For dances, my friends always ask me to do their hair too,” Jacobs said.
Aside from shooting guns and doing hair, she also likes to be outside.
“Sometimes, I like to go take walks and hike in the mountains out in the middle of nowhere. That is why ten years from now I’d like to live in Raleigh, North Carolina. There, I wish to live in a cute little neighborhood with my husband and kids working as a beautician or esthetician. Then getting my Aveda license and going back for something else,” Jacobs said.
Even though Jacobs may have the rest of her future planned out, the present is treating her very well.
One of her close friends, Elizabeth Kreimer, said, “Haylie is very honest and loyal. She is straight up with everyone and sticks up for her friends.”
