Badin girls basketball in 2020-21 was 18-10 overall losing to Dayton Carroll in the regional final. Seniors Mahya Lidesmith and Morgan Dixon are ready to continue their reign and improve on it and go even further into the tournament. Lindesmith is excited for the future of the team, especially younger teammates stepping up to the plate.
“I am excited to see the sophomores, specifically, step up into higher roles, and see all the possibilities, heart, and talent the freshman bring to the program. This year a lot of positions and the number of players is up in the air so it will be interesting to see where everyone falls,” Lindesmith said.
The Rams are scheduled for 22 games this year including a game against Lutheran High School in Missouri.
¨I am personally really excited for our newly scheduled game against my old school at the Hoosier gym in January. An opportunity to play the game I love with both my new and old friends is an insane reality to have,¨ Lindesmith said.
Dixon and Lindesmith both agreed that to be successful this season, they need to continue their legacy of the teams before them and getting better everyday at practice.
¨Practice is going to be big this year just to get chemistry down and make sure we are executing every time we step onto the floor,¨ Dixon said.
The team is looking to improve on their regional final and go even further than that to leave their legacy at Badin.
We wanna make it to state this year. We were so close last year and that is where our heart is coming from. Getting back there and going even further.¨Lindesmith said.
