Badin and Ross students love their jobs at Flub’s.
Juniors Ainsley Brandabur and Josie Grabel both ate at Flub’s growing up and decided to work there because of the good tips and to work with their friends.
Good tips are dependent on the weather.
“When it’s really hot, we are really busy but when it's cold, we barely have anyone so we make fewer tips,” Brandabur said.
In the summer, Flub’s has a lot of fruity flavors, like peach and mango. In the fall, the pumpkin flavor is really popular. The most popular order is Reese’s peanut butter cup Cyclone. Chocolate hard shell topping is the most used topping.
Employees can choose which location they want to work at. Brandabur and Grabel prefer the Ross location because it’s closer to their houses and makes more money. They also like the people they work with better.
The two girls mostly work at the window and make ice cream.
One employee perk is free ice cream. When she makes ice cream for herself, Grabel makes anything with cookie dough and hot fudge, and Brandabur makes the blue and white swirl with Krunch Kote. They both love salted caramel as well.
A funny story the girls shared involved a woman that came through the drive-thru and dropped her ice cream and threatened to sue Flub’s. (Remember to be kind to workers!)
Currently, their hours are Monday-Thursday 11-9 pm, Friday and Saturday 11-9:30 pm and Sunday 12-9 pm. What are you waiting for?
