Students were surveyed anonymously on a google form. As the end of the Third Quarter approaches, so does the workload. The workload increases according to 70% of the students.
“In the last two weeks of the quarter, it feels like we have so many assignments crammed in to get more assignments/grades in,” junior Ainsley Brandabur said.
Because the workload gets a lot heavier, students may feel stressed. The end of the quarter has been very stressful, according to 80% of the students.
“I have a lot more homework and so many tests to do,” sophomore Sophia Williams said.
Over half of the students report that the third quarter is the most overwhelming.
Along with stress can come a decline in motivation. This is the case with 45% of the students.
“It’s exhausting and such a long quarter,” junior Josie Grabel said.
For some individuals, stress can be a motivator. Over half of students can confirm this as the quarter ends.
While the quarter is ending, 30% of students feel it was never-ending and 70% of students feel like the third quarter flew by.
Once the quarter ends, Spring Break begins. Majority of students are ecstatic for the break.
While students are on break, 85% of students predict that they will be less stressed.
Brandabur is excited for Spring Break because she is going to Hilton Head, North Carolina. She claims she will be less stressed and relaxed.
Spring Break allows students who are not going on vacation to better balance extracurricular activities without the stress of school. 80% of students have a hard time balancing school with the activities.
Junior Patrick Ray, a three-sport athlete, says he can better balance his time in his sports and is excited for Spring Break.
When students are not off school or on break, 85% of students get stressed when they miss a school day.
All-in-all we are excited for a less stressful time to come.
