Approval of Use/Rental of District Facilities

Board Policy GKD (Local) permits public use of school facilities by non-school groups for educational, recreational, civic, or social activities when these activities do not conflict with school use or Board Policy. Non-school groups are organizations other than school-sponsored groups (e.g., student clubs, school teams) and school support groups (e.g., PTAs, booster clubs).


Austin ISD uses an online system named Facilitron to process facility rental requests. The system allows the entire rental process to be conducted online: from the submission of rental requests to their approval, and even the payment of rental fees. Security Access Badges

Austin ISD Police provides security access badges to district and relevant non-district employees. Employees must have an employee identification number or auxiliary number to receive an access badge, and all security badge requests for campus-based staff must be approved by the principal before they are processed. New badges are delivered to the campus via police courier.
