UIL (University Interscholastic League)

The purpose of the UIL is to organize and properly supervise contests that assist in preparing students for citizenship. It aims to provide healthy, character-building, educational activities carried out under rules providing for good sportsmanship and fair play for all participants.

While compliance with all UIL policies and procedures is critical for all school levels, it is imperative that high school principals closely monitor campus processes and procedures to ensure UIL reporting is accurate and on time so that eligibility is maintained in both athletics and academics. Principals need to ensure that any advisor or coach who runs a student program that falls under the governance of UIL is familiar with the UIL rules and requirements.
