Critical Incident Reporting

Examples of items (but not limited to) that must be reported:

  • Injury to Student, Staff, Other

  • Major Illness of Student, Staff, or Other

  • Death of a Student or Employee

  • Employee Misconduct

  • Missing Student

  • Bomb Threat

  • Weapon on Campus

  • Gas Leak, Power Outage, etc.

  • Bus Accident

  • Anything Newsworthy


Every campus must have a Crisis Campus Committee with a list of protocols and procedures for various incidents. It should include who is in charge of which aspects of a crisis, who to notify and when, and individuals responsible in each situation.


The district offers critical incident resources to help principals when an incident arises.
