Objective: To establish the compensation for temporary and long-term substitute teachers
Definitions:
Temporary substitution – a temporary teacher substitution is from one to thirty days
Long-term substitution - a long-term teacher substitution is for more than thirty days
Salaries for temporary or long-term substitutions by non-ASFG teachers
- they are placed on Salary Scale #7 (BA, minimum experience)
- a national teacher with a teaching degree and one year of teaching experience will receive the base peso salary (SS #7) as well as the National Salary Scale
- if the substitute has a US teaching credential and one year of experience, they will receive the base peso salary (SS #7) as well as the salary scale for US-type teachers
- substitute teachers will receive benefits that Mexican law requires for all employees
Salaries for temporary substitutions by ASFG personnel
- the teacher’s salary will remain the same
- teacher assistants will receive the substitute teacher’s stipend or a proportional amount if the assignment is for less than a month
Salaries for long-term substitutions by ASFG personnel
- the teacher’s salary will remain the same
Salaries for a long-term substitution by an ASFG teacher assistant or permanent substitute teacher
- the salary of the teacher assistant or permanent substitute will not be modified; they will receive a long-term stipend that is the difference between their contracted salary and Salary Scale #7 (BA, minimum experience)
