The salary scales authorized by the school’s Board of Directors determine all salaries for faculty members. Each scale is established horizontally by level of education and vertically by years of experience.
The Salary Scale No. 1 is the basic scale for all full-time, permanent faculty members. It is quoted and paid in Mexican pesos and represents the monthly integrated salary that is made up of the following items:
The Salary Scale No. 2 is a dollar scale that is granted to full time teachers teaching in the US program and that meet the following requirements:
The Salary Scale No. 2 is quoted in monthly US dollars and paid in Mexican pesos
The Salary Scale No. 3 is a peso scale that is granted to full-time certified national teachers.
The Director General is authorized to award additional compensation up to a total of 7% of the human resource budget to faculty filling positions where demand is high and candidates are limited, for recognizing outstanding teachers for their service to the school, and to retain teachers of excellence.
The school may offer, and an employee may accept, extra duty assignments to conduct and supervise activities sponsored by the school or to complete professional work that enhances the academic program.
The scale for Extra Duty Stipends will be determined by the Director General and approved by the Board of Directors. It is quoted in Mexican pesos and is 100% taxable according to the Mexican Federal Income Tax Law.
A memorandum of agreement shall be drawn up for each assignment, which shall specify the employee’s name, nature and duration of the assignment, and the amount of the stipend. The stipend will be paid bi-monthly during the assignment. Nothing contained in the agreement shall be construed as establishing permanency for the assignment.
Salary for temporary substitutions and contracts will be determined by the scale established for this purpose by the Director General and approved by the Board of Directors. This scale will only contemplate a base salary and will not include food coupons, attendance bonus, or savings fund.

Full-time teachers hired abroad for the sole purpose of working exclusively for the School will receive the following benefits upon their arrival in Guadalajara:
Full-time teachers hired abroad for the sole purpose of working exclusively for the School will receive the following benefits during the first four years of employment:
Teachers can choose one of the following options to receive this allowance.
a. The school can reserve your round-trip ticket and pay for it in advance.
b. Teachers purchase their plane ticket and ASFG will reimburse them upon arriving to Guadalajara. Teachers must provide ticket information where place of origin and amount paid can be verified. The school will only reimburse up to the amount stated on the letter of intent.
The following options are paid in pesos, through payroll (2nd pay period in August) and is taxable.
c. Teachers make their own arrangements and ASFG pays the amount stated on the letter of intent according to their point of origin.
d. For teachers who drive to Guadalajara, ASFG will pay the amount stated on the letter of intent according to their point of origin.
For all full-time teachers, two educational services for their children may be awarded based on Board approval and according to article 35 (Reglamento interior de trabajo) which follows:
1. To be qualified as a full time teacher the following requirements must be met:
a. A teacher must meet all requirements of SACS-CASI AdvancED/SEP/UNAM for their position or have a waiver from that accreditation agency in effect at the beginning of the school year to be eligible to participate in the program.
b. A teacher must be teaching a full academic load as defined by the section in which they are teaching.
c. National teachers and US type hired locally must have worked for a full school year, as well as having obtained outstanding evaluations, before their children may qualify to obtain one of the educational services referred to in these regulations.
2. Children of full-time teachers (25 periods a week or more) are entitled to two (2) educational services for two children corresponding to a maximum of 16 years of schooling (N-12) per child. These educational services are not transferable to a third child.
Study Abroad/ Leave Year Paid Options
Staff children are eligible to participate in Study Abroad. Staff students may also be awarded Leave Year Paid but there is no reduction to the full tuition requirement. The rationale being that ASFG would not offer a scholarship to a student who was not present at the school.
