Extended Definition: Dawg is usually used when talking about a good player or athlete when describing how well they are performing. Some people use the word dawg to describe a close friend however this term is commonly used in the sports world when describing players or athletes. As an athlete myself and a big fan of sports, I myself, say that players are dawgs or have that dawg in them all the time. You can use it on social media when commenting on a friend's post or you can say it when talking about athletes in general. People also use it to describe a certain mindset. Its like a never quit and keep fighting mindset.
Examples:
"George Pickens is a dawg."
"Kenny Picket has that dawg in him."
Person 1: "Bro, did you see what LeBron did in game 4?"
Person 2: "Yeah, he went crazy, he's a dawg."
