Enshittification

Many people use post-Musk Twitter/X, as well as the persistent increase in number of ads per video on YouTube, as prime examples of enshittification.

Examples:

Person 1: "Can you believe they put two unskippable ads before YouTube videos now?"
Person 2: "I know, enshittification is really getting out of hand."

Person 1: "I used to use twitter a lot but these days it just feels like a waste of time with how much misinformation is on there."
Person 2: "Yeah, I agree. Elon really enshittifies everything he touches."

Person 1: "I was really excited to play Star Wars: Battlefront II when I saw it was free on the Epic store, but then I looked into it and it seems like so much content is behind a paywall."
Person 2: "I hate whoever invented microtransactions. They really enshittified all the games that came after."
