Yapping, previously existing as a word which referred to a shrill bark, has now been used as slang for talking a lot, perhaps excessively, often about something the person is especially interested in.
“All I do is yap”
“I was yapping about cartoon lore for over an hour”
Yapping in the past has been used with a negative connotation, essentially to insult somebody, but now has been used more positively, often said by someone towards themselves. This seems to be especially prevalent in the neurodivergant community.
