Definition: it is an acronym of the phrase: I just busted out laughing.
Analysis of the phrase/some background information: Ijbol (I just busted out laughing) is phrased that was coined in the 2000's and early 2010's. However it didn't become popularized until around 2022-2023. Accoridng to a New York Times article, it first began in the K-Pop online twitter/X communities and soon other people started using it too. According to the same article, it also be used to label celeberties, primarily those who laugh a lot. It's mostly common among Gen-Z. I've seen it used mostly to describe someone, or yourself as laughing. Maybe a friend of you sent you a mean and you would respond with "ijbol". It's also spread to other social media platforms. It's been seen on Tiktok and Instagram and other platforms as well. This follows a pattern that I have seen among Gen-Z. Usually, terms they coin are abbreviations of whole phrases. Along with this word I have seen other words like "oomf" which means "one of my friends" or "one of my followers".
