a phrase used when someone makes a statement you don’t agree with
The phrase "you thought you ate" is more of a catchphrase used online in which the person confidently says something and thought they were right speaking facts, or thought they were funny.
An example is: BTS and Blackpink are the most popular K-pop group worldwide and both their fandoms don't get along which each other, which causes fan wars all the time-so when there are videos on tiktok of ARMY(BTS fandom name) stating that "BTS is better " or "BTS paved the way", and BLINKS (Blackpink fandom) would be commenting under the videos saying "you thought you ate" referring to you thought you were right stating those words.
This term is recent and is usually used amongst the younger generation.
