A ambitious beautiful woman inside and out that is bravely striving to proactively attain her best goals in life daily.
Example: My sister is a glow-getter, guys are lining up left and right but she’s only focused on being her best self academically and career wise.
Go-getter: n
A person that is determined to be successful despite the difficulty of the situation.
Example: The school notified her that her father passed away before the exam started but she’s a go-getter, she stayed and aced her exam before rushing to the hospital to see her dad.
The word Wāhine was coined into the English vocabulary in the 18th century and derived from the Maori language, the dialect that belongs to the native polynesians residing in New Zealand. When used to address a woman, lady, or wife, the term Wāhine is the singular term to address a feminine woman or wife, and Wahine which is now used in the English dictionary to address a singular female, is considered the plural form of Wāhine in the Maori language meaning many women or wives. In Islands such as Hawaii and Tahiti known for their beautiful beaches, Wāhine is spelt “vahine” yet holds the same meaning. In the mid-20th century, the surfing culture became popular amongst many females and the term “Wahine” took the reformed meaning of “female surfer.”
The term Glow-Getter is a representation of a radiant woman who is beautiful inside and out, an empowered content female that is passionately striving to achieve her goals in life without giving up. With the rise of social media, Instagram’s influencers have sparked the “glow” movement. A movement that places importance on a glowy healthy lifestyle of a beautiful person. Now people worldwide are using #glowup to showcase how they have improved their lives. The noun Glow-Getter is a combination of go-getter and glow, coined by Instagram fanatics and is now a basis to represent hard working, beautiful, kind-hearted women who are striving to succeed in life.
The phrase “Wāhine Glow-Getter” is used in a positive light, to represent beautiful women that are always working to achieve their best goals in life 24/7. The phrase is used in the Polynesian community as a nod of acknowledgement or admiration towards a woman's characteristics or worldly achievements.
