A guide dog is a trained dog to lead around a blind person and be their eyes. They start out as guide dog puppies in training and are trained by raisers for a year or so and then dirtier training on GDB campus before going off as a guide dog or breeder for the program. Then they are hand picked for their owner and go through more training to make sure the partnership is there and then they set off into the real world as a team. Ones that don’t make it are called Career changes.
