The emoji is commonly used to indicate that you are feeling foolish because nothing is as you thought
The emoji was added to the new updates in 2016 by Unicode 9.0. The clown emoji represent a party or circus clown, although also created to be used in a derogatory way and indicate that a person was "foolish".
Most millennials use this emoji to refer to themselves as dumb, as it creates “false” expectations of decisions, and thoughts or simply because a situation did not occur as believed.
Other cultures such as the Mexican also use it with the same point, denigrating and exposing itself so that other users continue with the trend or feel identified and expose "something worse".
