GCSE Results Summer 2018
It was smiles all round when months of waiting came to an end and Greensward Academy students were finally able to collect their GCSE examination results.
In an era of unprecedented reform to the qualification, subjects are now assessed through a new tougher exam and graded on a 1 – 9 scale with a grade 9 regarded as “beyond A*”. It is this which makes the achievement of Greensward’s top performing student, Charlie Cassidy, even more astounding; his near perfect set of seven grade 9s and two grade 8s means he was one of the highest performing students not just within his own school, but across the whole country. 64% of students achieved grade 4 pass or above in both English and maths. There was huge improvement in Science results this year with subjects such as art, photography, drama and business studies continuing to be very successful. Well done everyone, we are so delighted with the results.
A Level Results Summer 2018
There was much to celebrate this year as Greensward Sixth Form students collected their A level and BTEC results.
For most, the countless hours of revision and exam preparation paid off as they gained a set of grades which, in many cases, exceeded those needed to progress onto the next stage of their career, be that at university or in the work place. With almost a quarter of grades being awarded at A* an A and just short of half at A*-B it was another excellent set of results for the sixth form at Greensward which, last year, was ranked as the best in Essex by Government league tables. The results put Greensward students in the top 10% nationally for the third consecutive year.
It was also a good year for those students who sat AS levels earlier in the summer, with seven students gaining a clean sweep of A grades and the perfect start to their Year 13!
Well done to each and everyone of our students who we are confident will leave Greensward well equipped to face whatever challenge comes their way.
