'RISK OF RAIN 2' REVIEW

By Reid DeJongh 2/15/2022

"Risk of Rain 2" (ROR2) is and was one of my favorite games on PC. The game is based on luck and some skill. If you have bad luck your run could be terrible, and I love that. With a ton of different characters to play as, "Risk of Rain 2" has a ton of replayability. Even if you play solo, you can still have fun.

My first impression of ROR2 was that it was a complex third-person shooter (TPS) and that I had to learn how to play. But, after I watched a few tutorials, I was ready to try again. When I played for the second time, I was surprised. I made it to the third stage. If you practice, ROR2 becomes a lot easier.

Hopoo Games (the creators of ROR2) was founded in a dorm room by a group of friends, according to the game's Wiki site. They wanted to make games that everyone could enjoy. They made a few games, but ROR2 was their most ambitious and popular.

"Risk of Rain 2," in my opinion, is the best rogue-like to ever be created. In a rouge-like game, if your character dies, it goes back to the beginning with no items or upgrades.

If you love action and adrenalin, then you will love the game play of "Risk of Rain 2." The game is mildly complex, but that doesn’t happen until a few hours of gameplay. The game is fairly priced, and everything in ROR2 is available to be unlocked through achievements once you buy it.

ROR2 has been bought more than 4 million times as of March 23, 2021. It has the rating of “Overwhelmingly Positive," which means 95-99% positive reviews, on the video game marketplace Steam. Even the YouTuber Markiplier has made a few videos on it.

ROR2 has made a name for itself in the rouge-like/gaming community.
