Chizzle Wizzle auditions for Olios were held on the 11th of January 2020 from 8-10 pm. The Olios are skits, acts, and dances prepared for Chizzle Wizzle in accordance with the theme, “In Your Dreams.” They presented their acts to the Executive Committee.

Students were rushing to meet the deadline for the submission of the auditions forms on Wednesday, 8 January, 2020. Each potential act had to include the name and type of the act and the name of each actor. The audition schedule was finally posted on the Chizzle Wizzle notice board on Friday 10th January, 2020 for students to see.

Students usually arrive an hour or so before their audition to practice their skits.

Cade Parker, a sophomore who is an end and is part of a group presenting a skit said, “ it was easier to work with the theme this year and I feel the executive committee won't be too strict in choosing acts for the show because they are students and the auditionees have high expectations when it comes to performing.”

The executive committee was judging only a short part of each act to get ideas of the people they will work with and if the acts need to be modified to better fit the theme.

Jasmine Ferrington, a freshmen soloist said, “ The theme was easy to work with because dreams are things people can make do with.”

A total of 23 acts were delivered by Cony students to the Executive committee which included students from all grades.

Spencer Soiett, a sophomore member of the executive committee said, “ I have an open mind when it comes to expectations from the auditionees. The auditionees have higher expectations for themselves because most of them have been a part of Chizzle Wizzle in previous years.”

The auditions went fairly well for a lot of auditionees. Coming out of the audition, Cade Parker, an end and a member of a group said, “ our act was good and the atmosphere wasn't too tense.”

Students were happy with the organization of the auditions. After much debating from the executive committee the results of the acts picked were released at Ram time Monday January 13, 2020 with most of the acts being accepted. Now preparations for Chizzle Wizzle will start going full force.
