FAR CRY 6: A ‘FAR CRY’ FROM THE AWARD-WINNING SERIES

“Far Cry 6” is a good game, but it has a lot of problems.

The biggest problem is that the game is extremely easy. “Far Cry 6” is set in a dystopian reality with a blood-thirsty, power-hungry dictator. The objective of the game is to free the island of Yaran without losing too many companions. It’s not difficult to stay alive in most “Far Cry” games, but I only died three times during my entire playthrough of the game — even when it was set to the highest difficulty level.

The game's problems are due to terrible AI. The other “Far Cry” games had okay to great AI, but the quality of the AI is lacking in this edition. The AI enemy soldiers fire errant gunshots and won’t detect you even if you are right in front of them. If the AI was better, the game would be a little bit harder.

The game also allows players to purchase abilities called “Supremos,” which is cool in concept. The problem is the “supremos” make players very overpowered. The abilities are too easy to recharge and they do too much damage — it's impossible to not kill at least three people with every attack when a "supremos" is in use.

Not only is “Far Cry 6” easy but it also has bad guns. I don’t mean the guns are too good or unbalanced. No, the guns don’t do any damage at all. The starter pistol does only slightly less damage than the maximum upgraded sniper rifle.

That’s not all though. The ammo for “Far Cry 6” weapons runs out too fast and you are constantly having to buy or find more. You can call a car and get the free maximum ammo from the back of it, but you still have to wait 30 mins before you can collect ammo again. This is the most annoying part about “Far Cry 6.”

“Far Cry 6” ranks as just an okay game because it’s short and repetitive. The game takes roughly 16-18 hours to beat and 27-30 hour to complete. Compared to most games, that's pretty short and not worth the original $60 price tag.

“Far Cry 6” is also just repetitive. Most of the game is made up of side missions where you are taking out roadblocks and tobacco farms or saving hostages to get back to the main mission. If you don’t do the side missions you will have a hard time traversing the map.

If you want to get into “Far Cry” or get back into it, get the third or fifth installments instead. Those are both great games that give the series a good name. “Far Cry Primal” and “Far Cry 4” are also good games but still have their own minor flaws.

I had high expectations after "Far Cry 5" turned out to be one of my favorite games of all time. I am not saying “Far Cry 6” is a bad game, but I was disappointed with what it was.
