Drawing project: Learning to draw-basics

Introduction to drawing-Presentation on drawing in different professions and presentation on different drawing techniques and artists. (Line,tone, shading, proportions, etc..)
Draw Cubes in perspective/ measured drawing/ shading
Start drawing ellipses ( from eye level down- the ellipse gets wider as it goes down until it becomes a full circle)
Draw ellipses from eye level in perspective (draw a cylinder from the top/ birds eye view and another cylinder looking up
produce a drawing of three cylindrical objects and apply what you have learnt about ellipses
Show presentation on perspective (Perspective/ measured drawing/ proportions)

Measured drawing

Learn to use guidelines to get heights and proportions of objects. concentrate on drawing one object and then use the measurements and guidelines to do the rest of the drawing. Use a box with objects that relate to your personality.
draw a close up of your box with objects that relate to your personality. use a window grid to help you select an area. Use paper to make a window frame.
Shade the close up drawing and start to assess the tone of an object beside another object. The tones have to be different to create contrast.
Draw objects inside a jar and add light from a torch/ mobile phone
Draw objects inside a jar and add water so they float. Use charcoal and white paint on brown paper and also collage news paper in some sections. work in layers, wait for the paint to dry and work ontop and keep doing this
Left hand experimental drawings.

Hang the sculpture from string and draw whiles its moving- use charcoal and white paint to draw different shadows

- A group of objects can paint a picture of some ones personality and become a self portrait. Make a collection of personal objects, with this idea in mind, and develop work in 2-D media making reference to related work by other artist'. look at the presentations below for artist information.
