Lesson 1: look at documentaries and presentation on Gaudi and natural forms presentation. and as a class produce a brainstorm based on natural forms and Gaudi and his work.
Lesson 3: Research and draw images related to natural forms, refer to brainstorm for ideas of what images to look for.
Lesson 4: Overlap, repeat, select sections, change the size, rotate, stretch, use negative and positive shapes or use symmetry. Students will develop 2 designs and then focus on one and explore the possibilities using 2 colours and think about pattern and textures.
Lesson 5: Create a grid over the designs and enlarge to A3.
Lesson 6: Look at the documentaries of Roy Litchenstein and Yayoi Kusama and discuss work. Students to make notes on the artists and select one that they like. They need to research images of their chosen artist and make a drawing of a painting ( can focus on a section).
Lesson 7 and 8: Give demonstrations of painting techniques related to the artist and how to take care of materials and start to paint. Students should consider the following;
Intensity of colour
layering of colour and translucency of colour
Texture, Pattern and outlines
Lesson 9: Evaluate your project and comment on the process and what you could have done better.
