week 1:
Look at documentaries and discuss:
Shape and form
Colour and pattern
Make a list of the names of the sea creatures you see on the documentaries. Use this list to collect images which the student can save to their phone/ tablet.
Week 2:
Research drawing page: using your researched images saved to the students phone produce drawings and make annotations on the patterns, colour and textures of each creature.
Week 3:
continue........ drawing and discuss contrasting colours
Week 4:
Simplify your drawings and consider positive and negative shapes when looking at the colours and pattern of your fish.
Use pencil first to simplify your drawings and then go over them with black pen.
Week 5:
Start looking at producing 2 compositional ideas. Consider the following:
scale/size
distance/ perspective
use of contrasting colours
background and the use of mixed media (coloured tissue paper, foils paper ect...)
Week 6:
Start to look at the work of Sonia Delaunay- watch documentaries.
Create an artist page in your sketchbook and include a colour drawing of your favorite Sonia Delaunay painting or a section of a painting.

Week 10:
Possible continuation of project: create a wearable clothing item.
Look at the video on Sonia Delaunay fashion creations.
Week 11:
Make a list of possible clothing items
Use ipad pro with pen to download fashion clothing templates and then work on them with the Ipad pens to develop the designs
Week: 12,13 and 14
Get paper or card to do the clothing templates and start to paint them following your ipad design. You can also add colours tissue or any other mixed media materials.
